Bayer Leverkusen star Hakan Calhanoglu has denied quotes recently published in Turkish newspaper Fanatik that reported him saying that he wants to join Chelsea.
The Fanatik newspaper published quotes claiming Calhanoglu had said: “God willing, I will be a Chelsea player next season.”
Calhanoglu refuted the claims via his official Twitter page, denying reports that he said he will be a Chelsea player next season.
I said nothing about Chelsea in the press & didn’t talk to any Turkish journalist – neither about the court decision nor about my future!

Despite Calhanoglu’s recent tweet, almost ever major Turkish newspaper published the quotes.
Also a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that Calhanoglu is nearing an end of season move to Chelsea.
The Blues have been keeping tabs on the Turkish international attacking midfielder as have a number of Premier League sides.
Calhanoglu is unable to play until next season after being suspended from club and international football according to the BBC.
The Turkish international star still has another two-and-a-half seasons remaining on his current contract but he has been closely linked with a Premier League move for over a season now.
Bayer managing director was quoted by Turkish newspaper Milliyet in 2015 responding to rumours of Manchester United interest: “Yes I have heard about the interest [Manchester United] but we are not interested in selling.”
