Chelsea Target Yunus Akgun’s Move To Anderlecht Collapses

Galatasaray have rejected a €3 million offer from Anderlecht to sign 18-year-old winger Yunus Akgun.

Sources close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football that Galatasaray pulled out of the deal.

Additionally, Anderlecht had a dispute with an intermediary who had been working on the transfer after he requested an exuberant signing on fee worth €1 million.

Galatasaray sold Ozan Kabak to Stuttgart for €12m after promoting the defender from the academy to the first team at the start of the season.

The Lions plan to give Akgun more playing time over the second half of the season.

The 18-year-old already has five goals and three assists this season despite making just 12 appearances – 50 minutes of Super Lig action.

Akgun has been scouted by several teams across Europe this term.

Eren Sarigul of Turkish-Football reported that Chelsea, Wolfsburg, Benfica and Juventus scouted Akgun back in November in a piece for ESPN.

The winger played a starring role in the U17 Turkey national team that finished the 2017 U17 European Championship in 3rd place.
