Chelsea on-loan defender Kenneth Omeruo has got his Alanyaspor career off to an inconsistent start. After putting on a stellar performance in the 3-0 win over Super Lig giants Trabzonspor he underwhelmed over the following two games conceding three in the 3-2 defeat against rivals Adanaspor and then shipping in five goals in the 5-0 loss to league leaders Basaksehir.
Alanyaspor have had a few weeks to work on the flaws in their defence over the international break and will be in for a tough test against Fenerbahce.
The 22-year-old will have to show he can hold his own against the leagues most dangerous forwards if he hopes to have a future at his parent club Chelsea and the Blues will be monitoring the game a source close to Alanyaspor revealed to Turkish-football.com.
Omeruo did put on his best display this season against another of the leagues giants in Trabzonspor but the Yellow Canaries possess a far more potent attack and it will be interesting to see how the Nigerian international copes.
The young defender was closely linked with a move to Fenerbahce’s rivals Besiktas over the summer but the deal fell through at the last minute. Omeruo is already well settled in Turkey having spent last season on-loan at Kasimpasa.
The Mediterranean based outfit are currently in a respectable 11th place in the league but they have let in the joint highest number of goals in the league (13) – although eight of the goals were conceded in over the last two games.
