Club President Gives Transfer Update After Reports Liverpool Made £13m Bid For World Cup Star Also Targeted By Rivals Everton

Liverpool have made an offer worth £13m for Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida according to reports in Turkey.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been left impressed with Dejan Lovren’s Croatia national team defensive partner.

Per the source, Leicester City have also expressed an interest.

Meanwhile, Turkish-Football have reported Everton as expressing a keen interest since the beginning of the World Cup.

In fact reports from Turkey claim the Toffees have also made offers.

Vida has had no shortage of interest following after impressing at the World Cup in Russia.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman has opened up about the future of the Croatia international.

Orman hinted that the 29-year-old could be sold, confirming for the first time that they are open to offers – even though they would prefer to keep him.

“I really like Vida, I have really enjoyed watching him at the World Cup,” Turkish-Football quoted Orman as saying.

“Look we did not want to sell Cenk, Marcelo or Ersan but you saw what happened, it is the situation we find ourselves in.

“Just because we don’t want to sell does not mean we won’t sell.

“We do not want Vida to leave but for the right price? we will see.”

Vida joined Besiktas on a free transfer from Dynamo Kiev in January and does have another four-years remaining on his contract.

The Black Eagles want to keep the defender on their books but they will sell for the right price.

The Super Lig outfit have already drafted a shortlist for potential replacements should he be sold.
