Comolli Opens Up About Reports That Liverpool Coach Zeljko Buvac Will Take Over As Fenerbahce Manager

Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli decided not to comment about the prospect of Liverpool coach Zeljko Buvac being appointed the next manager of the Super Lig club.

Comolli had a press conference today and took questions from the reports present.

Regarding the prospect of Buvac joining Comolli said: “We have held talks with several managers.

“I understand the fans are excited but Aykut Kocaman is still the manager of the club.

“Saying a name right now would not be right.”

Liverpool assistant manager Buvac is being ‘lined up’ to take over Aykut Kocaman as Yellow Canaries manager this summer.

Klopp famously referred to Buvac as “the brain” however, the Serbian unexpectedly left Liverpool at the end of April for reasons still unknown.

There is still no official word from the club over whether Buvac will resume his position at the club.

Buvac worked alongside Klopp for 17 years but could be set for a managerial position if the latest reports turn out to be correct.

Despite the latest rumors Aykut Kocaman is still manager of the Yellow Canaries.

Fenerbahce will make a decision over the future of the Turkish manager on Friday.

Kocaman guided the Istanbul based outfit to a second-placed finish last season.

Buvac played alongside Klopp at Minaz before becoming the German tactician’s assistant manager in 2001. The Serbian followed Klopp to Dortmund and once again to Liverpool in 2015.
