Crystal Palace Keen On Besiktas Offer, Summer Transfer Could Go Ahead

Besiktas have ramped up efforts to sign a new striker over the summer.

The Black Eagles have struggled for goals as far as their forwards are concerned since the departure of Cenk Tosun.

The Istanbul giants have drawn up a shortlist including Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke.

The Fanatik newspaper, report that the Eagles are keen on the offer put forward by Besiktas.

Per the source, the Super Lig outfit want Benteke on a loan deal with a buyout clause option.

The Belgium striker is under contract until 2020 but struggled this season.

Benteke scored just three goals this term and Palace reportedly want to recoup some of the £27million they paid Liverpool for him in 2016 according to the Evening Standard.

Per the source, there is also interest from China.

The powerful striker did not make the World Cup squad for Belgium following his disappointing campaign.

Belgium manager Roberto Martinez explained the decision saying the following: “Christian Benteke has been the toughest decision. But it is for the balance of the squad. We have two number 9s and Michy Batshuayi and Romelu Lukaku have taken those positions.”

Benteke scored a total of three goals and provided six assists in 31 appearances in all competitions this season.
