Crystal Palace prepare €22m bid for Newcastle striker target & will send scouts to Champions League clash against Monaco
Crystal Palace came close to signing Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun over the summer transfer window.
“Crystal Palace offered €13.5 million on transfer deadline day,” Tosun was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
“Had they made the bid a week earlier I would be playing in the Premier league right now.
“I would only leave Besiktas if I made my club money and if the circumstances are right.
“Now I’m focused on winning my third consecutive league title, playing Champions League football and focusing on international football.”
Tosun himself revealed that he would have accepted Palaces’s offer had they made it a week earlier.
The Eagles are set to up their offer to €22 million over the winter transfer window according to Turkish sports newspaper Fotomac.
Per the source, Palace will send scouts to watch Tosun in the Champions League Match Day 3 clash against Monaco in France.
Palace could face competition from Newcastle United and Tottenham who have both been closely linked with Tosun who Turkish-Football revealed have been scouting the forward.
Besiktas take on the Ligue 1 giants on Tuesday 17 October at Stade Louis II.

Besiktas are currently first in the Champions League Group G with two wins in two games against Porto as well as Red Bull Leipzig.
Tosun already has a goal and an assist in the Champions League including a goal of the week effort against Porto.
The 26-year-old has a total of nine goals in all competitions for club and country this season.
The striker played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title for the past two seasons scoring 24 times in all competitions last campaign.
