Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp dropped out-of-favour striker Christian Benteke going into the Arsenal clash at the Emirates.

The Reds did not miss Benteke upfront as they put four past Arsenal in the 4-3 victory in their first Premier League game of the season.

Klopp decided to leave both Benteke and Balotelli out of the squad and is reported to have instructed both forwards to find a new club.

Crystal Palace have been in talks with Liverpool over Benteke but the Reds want £32 million for the Belgium international according to the Mirror.

The Sun report that Palace may target West Brom forward Saido Berahinho instead of Benteke due to the Reds high asking price.

Klopp’s insistence on getting a high price for Benteke could however, result in the Belgium international staying at the club over the summer.

Benteke’s agent Eris Kismet recently told Turkish-football.com, that the Reds asking price was putting clubs off.

“Liverpool want to sell Benteke but clubs that are interested as unable to match his valuation,” Kismet said.

Turkish giants Besiktas have also confirmed interest in the Liverpool striker as stated by vice-president Ahmet Nur Cebi but the Black Eagles want him on loan.

“Benteke is a player we are interested, we are pushing for him and would want him to be transferred to the club.” Cebi revealed to Turkish-Football.

The Reds have informed the Istanbul giants that they would only consider a temporary move for Benteke is their asking fee is not matched going into the last week of August.
