Galatasaray have suffered a major transfer blow in their pursuit of Dedryck Boyata from Celtic.

The Turkish giants have been closely linked with a move for the Belgium international over the past week.

The Spanish outlet Marca have linked Sevilla with a £10m move for Boyatta.

However, the transfer saga appears to have taken a new twist.

Despite being criticised by manager Brendan Rodgers and entering the final 12-months of his contract, Boyatta has been included in Celtic’s starting XI today.

Celtic take on Hamilton in the Scotish Premier League this afternoon.

Galatasaray are keen on signing a new centre-back after failing to re-sign Jason Denayer on loan this summer.

The Belgium international returned to City after his loan deal expired and subsequently joined Ligue 1 giants Lyon.
