Borussia Dortmund have joined Arsenal in the race to sign the Turkey international Omer Toprak from Bayer Leverkusen.
The German outlet Sports Buzzer state that Toprak is high up on Dortmund’s transfer shortlist. However, the report goes onto state that the Bundesliga giants are willing to wait until next season when his €12m buy-out clause is activated.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Toprak over the past week after failing to land Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia. However, the Valencia defender still remains Arsenal’s primary target.
The 27-year-old has no shortage of suitors and the Daily Star did report back in March that Toprak was a top Manchester Untied target. Toprak has years of Bundesliga and Champions League experience as well as international experience.
Arsenal take on last seasons champions Leicester City in their second game of the Premier League season this weekend.
