Borussia Dortmund star Nuri Sahin has revealed that he is happy at the club and currently not interested in a reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Sahin had been linked with a return to Liverpool but when asked if he was considering returning after Turkey’s 2-0 win over Czech Republic he stated that he is not thinking about leading Dortmund.
“I am very happy at Dortmund,” Sahin told Sport360. “Yesterday it was Galatasaray, tomorrow it is Fiorentina – it’s normal of course in football to hear these things but I am very happy at Dortmund.”
The experienced midfielder enjoyed a brief six-month loan stint at Liverpool while Klopp was still manager of Dortmund.
Klopp and Sahin spent years together at Dortmund before the German manager took over at Liverpool.
Sahin underlined that his priority is to focus on Euro 2016 and and then focus on pre-season with Dortmund afterwards.
“I’m happy that I am healthy again. I will finish the Euros, and then my focus will be fully on Dortmund. I’m fit and I hope I can have a good pre-season,” he added.
Sahin did not start for Turkey in the 2-0 win over the Czech Republic after picking up a knock in training mid-week.
The 27-year-old is however, expected to return in time for the next round – if Turkey qualify.
