Borussia Dortmund star Nuri Sahin has revealed that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has impressed him but that he is not surprised.
Speaking to 360 Sahin replied to a question regarding how what he thought about Klopp’s start at Liverpool by saying: “Am I impressed? Yes. But I am certainly not surprised.”
Sahin was first discovered by Klopp during his time in charge of Dortmund. The midfielder was just 16 when the current Reds boss first discovered his talent and started playing him.
The 27-year-old worked with Klopp throughout his time at Dortmund before a brief spell at Real Madrid including a six-month stint at Liverpool.
Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers as head coach of Liverpool last season and despite not winning any silverware he did guide the Reds to the Europa League final.
Sahin is currently on international duty with the Turkish national team at Euro 2016 but did not feature in the 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic yesterday after picking up a knock in training.
