The Liverpool v Borussia Dortmund clash is one of the most highly anticipated games of the Europa League quarter-final stage – even more so for Nuri Sahin.
Sachin enjoyed a brief stint on a six-month loan at Liverpool under the stewardship of Brendan Rodgers back in 2013.
Rodgers and Sahin did not exactly see eye to eye but the Turkish intentional midfielder continues to remain fond of the club and always speaks highly of the fans.
Sahin will get the chance to play against the Reds for the first time since leaving the club.
The experienced midfielder recently returned from a lengthy injury and has managed to make his way back into the first team over recent weeks making six appearances.
The game holds even more importance for Sahin considering his former manager Jurgen Klopp will be coaching Liverpool.
Klopp is credited with first discovering the 25-year-old midfielder and he was a firm favourite of the manager during his time in charge of the club.
The Reds boss also unearthed Ilkay Gundogan during his time at the club but the Germany intentional of Turkish origin remains a doubt due to injury.
