Dutch police have staged a drug raid at Wesley Sneijder’s villa in Vlueten, Utrech in the Netherlands.

The local authorities did not comment on the details of the raid but reports from the Dutch press suggest that the police were looking for drugs.

Sneijder’s representatives confirmed that no banned substances were found.

The 30-year-old playmaker and his wife were in Turkey when the raid took place.

The Netherlands international did not feature in Galatasaray’s 4-2 win over Eskişehirspor in the Turkish Cup.

Sneijder was rested by recently appointed Galatasaray manager Hamza Hamzaoğlu ahead of an important league game agianst Akhisar.

The experienced playmaker lead Galatasaray to Turkish Cup glory last season and played an important role in Galatasaray reaching the Champions League quarter-finals.

Sneijder has made one assist and three goals in 16 appearances for Galatasaray this season.
