Besiktas signing Adriano is reported to have recommended former Barcelona team-mate Jeremy Mathieu to follow him to Turkey according to Fotomac.
Mathieu is reported to have made an enquiry regarding how Adriano is settling in following an offer from Besiktas.
Adriano joined Besiktas on a three-year deal last week and is almost certain to play first team as well as Champions League football this season.
Per the source, the Black Eagles have been holding talks with his agent Alain Migliaccio.
Mathieu only recently revealed that he rejected a move from Besiktas in favour of staying at Barcelona according to Sport.
“It’s true there was contact [Besiktas] but I told the president that I was very happy here and that my intention was to continue,” he added.
“Luis Enrique already knows that I prefer to play as a centre-back, but in football you never know what could happen.”
Of Umtiti, Mathieu said: “He had a great Euro 2016, winning the battle against Rami”.
Sport also recently reported that Premier League giants Liverpool are also considering a €7m move for the French defender.
Mathieu is believed to have fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool following the signing of Umtiti and Digne.
