Eintracht Frankfurt Complete Can Uzun Transfer

Eintracht Frankfurt has pulled off a coup, signing one of Germany’s most exciting young talents, 18-year-old striker Can Uzun.

The Turkish forward, who was born and raised in Germany, arrives on a five-year contract after a prolific season with second-division side Nuremberg, where he netted 19 goals in 32 appearances.

Uzun’s talent has clearly attracted attention across Europe, but Frankfurt has secured his signature despite reported interest from other clubs.

“Can Uzun is one of the biggest talents in Germany,” declared Frankfurt board member Markus Krösche. “We’re therefore delighted that he has chosen us… He has incredible skills for his age.

Frankfurt seems to have impressed Uzun with their vision for his development.

“We’ve outlined our precise plans to Can and he’s bought into them,” Krösche added.

Uzun, who made his international debut for Turkey in March, will be hoping to continue his impressive form and potentially earn a call-up for major tournaments in the future.

His omission from the Turkish national team for Euro 2024 came as a surprise considering he was called up before the tournament and Turkey do not have a lot of depth upfront.

Manager Vincenzo Montella felt it was too early for Can as he already has two 19-year-olds in his team playing regularly, Arda Guler and Kenan Yilmaz.
