Emre Can played in a total of three different positions during Liverpool’s defeat at the hands of Leicester City last night.

The Germany international started the game as an anchor midfielder in a three man midfield. Klopp then deployed Can as part of a three-man defence in the second half.

Can also played as a centre-back in a back four in the final minutes of the game. The former Bayer Leverkusen man also provided an assist for Phillipe Coutinho for Liverpool’s only goal.

Liverpool fans have taken aim at Emre Can however, the 23-year-old has been struggling with injuries of late and has been playing in numerous positions for the Merseyside club.

Can was dropped from the starting line-up in the 2-0 win over Tottenham but returned to the team following injury to club captain Jordan Henderson.
