Emre Can has returned to pre-season training following an extended summer break.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp decided to give Can extra time off after the 22-year-old featured in Germany’s Euro 2016 campaign. Can made just one appearance during Germany’s semi-final defeat at the hands of host’s France.
Can took to social media to upload the following image and shared this message for his fans, “Very happy to be back! Looking forward to the season ahead.”
The 22-year-old has not played for the Reds since the Euro 2016 campaign and has been in holiday in Turkey to meet his family and on the West Coast of the US partying with the likes of Mesut Ozil.
Liverpool were defeated by Chelsea in the International Champions Cup in the Rose Bowl earlier this morning.
Can is now one of four players born in Germany of Turkish origin in the Premier League with the others being Man City star Ilkay Gundogan, Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil and West Ham winger Gokhan Tore.
