Former Germany international Jurgen Kohler has backed Emre Can’s decision to leave Liverpool for Juventus over the summer.
The 24-year-old made the move to the Serie A giants after his contract with the Merseyside based club expired.
Can was a first-team regular at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp last season but has started all three of Juventus’ games on the bench.
However, Kohler believes Can has a much better chance of winning silverware at Juventus.
“It’s harder to win titles in Liverpool. With the Old Lady, he has the certainty to play at a top club, they enjoy a high reputation around the world,” Kohler told Sport1.
“Emre is now in the prime of his life, even after a four-year contract, he can move on to Real Madrid or Barcelona. That was definitely worth considering.
“If you win a few championships with your club, you will, of course, become interesting again for other clubs.”

Emre Can featured in the UEFA Champions League final with Liverpool last season and will be hoping to go one step further with Juventus.
The Italian giants are targeting Champions League glory following the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.
Can has played 44 minutes of football this season after making three substitute appearances.
Juventus are back in action after the international break when they take on Sassuolo on September 16.
