“Emre’s replacement everyday of the week” – Liverpool fans react on social media to £28m Germany international link

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Hoffenheim midfield playmaker Kerem Demirbay in recent weeks.

The German outlet Bild recently reported that the Reds are willing to match the £28 million release clause in Demirbay’s contract.

Liverpool fans will be familiar with Demirbay following the two UEFA Champions League qualification clashes against Hoffenheim.

Ther Germany international played a starring role in both legs despite his side being eliminated by the Reds.

Upon hearing the news that Demirbay has been linked with a move to the Merseyside based club, Liverpool. fans took to social media to express their excitement.

Many believe Demirbay could be an idea replacement for Emre Can.

However, Demirbay suffered a serious injury setback in recent weeks. The 24-year-old picked up an ankle injury last week which is expected to keep him out for several weeks.

Liverpool are back in action in the Premier League this weekend when they take on Southampton.
