Liverpool star Emre Can believes that England should be considered favourites going into the European Championships in France this summer.
Can told Frankfurter Rundschau: “Look at the qualification matches: England marched through with 10 wins in 10 games. This is no coincidence.
“They should be included among the group of tournament favourites.”
England are on a 10 match win streak but will be in for a tough test against the World Cup winners in Berlin tonight.
The match holds even more importance for Can considering he may be playing against his Liverpool teammates.
“The English have become a strong team. A very strong team even. “I know almost all the players, because they all play in the Premier League. So I know how well they can play football. It will be a tough game for us,” he added.
Can could face up to five Liverpool teammates with Nathaniel Clyne, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, James Milner and Daniel Sturridge all called up to the England side.
The young midfielder is along with Mesut Ozil one of two ethnic Turks in the current Germany national team.
Can has played as a full-back for Germany up till now but will be hoping Low gives him a chance in central midfield where he has played for Liverpool under the stewardship of Jurgen Klopp this season.
