England vs Croatia – Domagoj Vida Starts In World Cup Semi-Final

England take on Croatia in the 2018 World Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

The last time Croatia made this stage of the tournament was back in 1998, England meanwhile have not reached the semi-final of a World Cup since 1990.

This will be the eighth meeting between these two sides, Croatia have beat England just once, drawing two and losing four.

The Croatia defender has struck up an impressive partnership with Dejan Lovren and started all but one game.

Vida scored in the quarter-final against Russia in extra-time and converted his penalty in the shootout.

Vida is almost certain to start against England despite being involved in a controversial pro-Ukraine video.

FIFA outlaws political statements and said it had issued Vida with a warning after a video published online following Croatia’s win versus hosts Russia.

In the clip Vida, who used to play for Dynamo Kiev, said: “Glory to Ukraine!”
