Euro giants Besiktas enter talks with Liverpool midielder’s agent over summer transfer

Besiktas have entered talks with Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva’s agent over a summer transfer.

Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik report that the Black Eagles have restarted negotiations with Lucas.

The first round of talks stalled after they were unable to reach an agreement on Lucas’ wage demands.

Per the source, the Black Eagles three Brazilian players, Anderson Talisca, Marcelo and Adriano have all been used as intermediaries to convince Lucas into making the move.

Lucas would be the fourth Brazilian player in the current Besiktas squad.

The Istanbul giants would be able to offer the 30-year-old Champions League group stage football next season.

Besiktas are coming off the back of winning the league title for two seasons running.

Lucas is reaching the end of his contract and will become a free agent.

Besiktas are keen on signing Lucas on a free contract and unless Liverpool offer a last-minute contract renewal he will be leaving.

The 30-year-old is currently the longest serving Liverpool player in the squad having joined the club from Gremio in 2007.
