Galatasaray boss Fatih Terim has publically urged club officials to complete the signing of Jason Denayer this summer.

The Belgium international played a key role during Galatasaray’s title win last season. Denayer established himself as a first-team regular following the appointment of Terim mid-way through the season.

Speaking to the press at Galatasaray’s training camp in Switzerland, Terim praised the club for signing Yuto Nagatomo from Inter Milan but stated that signing Denayer is ‘critical.’

“We are trying to improve our squad despite the economic barriers in front of us,” Terim told reporters during a press conference.

“Signing Denayer and Nagatomo this summer is critical for us.

“We have signed Nagatomo while Donk’s contract has been sorted too.

“God willing, Jason Denayer will also re-join us this summer.”

Denayer is expected to leave Man City this summer after failing to break into Man City’s first team squad.

The 23-year-old has spent the past four seasons out on loan and is yet to make a senior Man City appearance despite joining back in 2014.

The versatile defender made 22 appearances for Galatasaray last season.
