Euro giants to decide on new bid for Liverpool star in 72 hours

Juventus will decide whether to make a new bid for Liverpool star Emre Can in the next 72 hours according to reports in Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport claim Juve will move for either Can or Kevin Strootman and the decision of who to target will be made by the end of the week.

Roma have fended off interest in Strootman over the past few years, with Manchester United closely linked with the Dutch star back in 2015.

Juve may end up failing to land either player as Roma have made it clear they won’t sell as have Liverpool.

Can himself has made it clear he will be staying at Liverpool over the 2017-18 campaign.

The midfielder of Turkish origin does however, have under 12 months remaining on his contract which has resulted in speculation that he is headed for an exit.

The 23-year-old may not leave this season but if his contract situation is not resolved he will end up leaving on a free transfer next summer.

The Gazetta report does claim that Can has rejected the Reds contract offer.

The Reds have yet to give an update on the midfielder’s contract situation.

Liverpool have given out the message this summer that they are not a selling club after also rejecting offers from Barcelona for Philippe Coutinho.
