Euro Giants hopeful of signing £13m Newcastle star after positive transfer negotiations but faces competition from Fulham

Fenerbahce officials are optimistic about their chances of signing Newcastle United star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer.

We recently reported that Fenerbahce director of football Damien Comolli was set for transfer talks with the Premier League side for Mitrovic.

Meanwhile, the daily Turkish newspaper Takvim have followed up the story and claim that talks between Comolli and Newcastle United officials have been positive.

Per the source, newly promoted Premier League side Fulham are also in the race to sign Mitrovic.

Fenerbahce are hoping to sign Mitrovic on loan this summer, however, the report goes onto state that Newcastle would rather sell the Serbia international than loan him out.

Mitrovic may prefer a move to Fulham following an impressive six months with the London based club last season. The powerful striker helped Fulham gain promotion to the Premier League.
