Euro Giants in transfer talks with Chelsea over Netherlands international star

Chelsea transfer news

Fenerbahce are interested in bringing in Chelsea midfielder Marco Van Ginkel this summer.

According to the daily Turkish newspaper Milliyet, Fenerbahce President Ali Koc is already in talks with the Blues over the Netherlands international.

The newly elected Fenerbahce president travelled to London earlier this week to hold talks with several players including Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina.

Phillip Cocu is poised to take over the reigns at Fenerbahce as manager following the departure of Aykut Kocaman.

The Dutch tactician is well acquainted with Van Ginkel after managing him for two seasons at PSV.

Van Ginkel is expected to leave Chelsea this summer after failing to break into Antonio Conte’s squad.

Despite joining Chelsea back in 2013 from Vitesse, Van Ginkel has made just four appearances for the London based club.

The 25-year-old provided five assists and scored 16 goals in 33 appearances for PSV last season.

Fenerbahce will be able to offer the midfielder Champions League football next season after finishing the Turkish Super Lig in second place.
