Euro giants make £22.5m offer for Liverpool star Emre Can, Reds demand £27m
Serie A giants Juventus haven’t given up hopes of signing Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.
The Old Lady has been in pursuit of the Germany international for several weeks. Liverpool have so far resisted all offers for their star man.
However, Can has under 12 months remaining on his contract with the Reds and is yet to agree a new deal.
According to the Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Juventus have tabled a £22 million offer for the 23-year-old.
Per-the-source, Liverpool will only consider selling their star midfielder for £27 million.
The former Bayer Leverkusen star has however stated that he is happy with life at Liverpool. Can has also said that he is looking forward to playing for the Reds this season.
“It’s a big season [for me] and I think it’s a big season for the team as well,” Emre Can told the club’s website.
“Last season we did quite well but we could do better, so we will try to do it better this year and push on.
“Myself, I want to push on as well and I want to have good confidence and play a good season.”
Can is available for selection ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Watford on Saturday 12 August.
The combative midfielder was granted an extended summer break after helping Germany win the Confederations Cup last month.
Can provided three assists and scored five goals in 40 appearances for Liverpool last season.
