Euro Giants freeze transer talks with Chelsea star after star midfielder suffers serious knee injury

Fenerbahce have cooled their interest in Chelsea star midfielder Marco van Ginkel, according to the latest reports from the Netherlands.

The Yellow Canaries had been in talks with the London based club and wanted to sign Van Ginkel on a season-long loan.

However, according to the Voetbal International, talks have been placed on hold after it emerged that Van Ginkel has suffered another knee injury.

The Netherlands international has been plagued by knee injuries in recent seasons and could undergo an operation.

Voetbal International go onto state that Van Ginkel’s proposed move to Fenerbahce is off the table until he return’s to full fitness.

Fenerbahce’s newly appointed manager Philippe Cocu worked with Van Ginkel as PSV for two seasons.

Van Ginkel spent the last four seasons out on loan at AC Milan, Stoke City and PSV. The 25-year-old provided five assists and netted 16 goals in 33 games for PSV this season.
