Fenerbahce has put the breaks on their pursuit of Tottenham star striker Vincent Janssen.
The Netherlands international spent the 2017/18 season on loan with the Yellow Canaries after falling out of favour with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino
Janssen struggled with injuries during his spell at Fenerbahce and only managed to score just four league goals.
Fenerbahce were expected to make a fresh attempt to sign Janssen following the appointment of Phillip Cocu.
However, the Turkish outlet Milliyet claim that Cocu has not been convinced by Janssen and wants to sign a different type of forward instead.
The report goes onto state that Fenerbahce’s newly appointed manager has set his sights on Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.
Furthermore, newly elected Fenerbahce President Ali Koc was critical of the previous regime for the amount of money they paid to sign Janssen on loan last summer.
Janssen joined Tottenham for £17 million from AZ Alkmaar and has two years remaining on his contract with the north London based club.
