Euro Giants set to hold talk with 21-year-old Newcastle United midfielder

Besiktas have set their sights on Newcastle United’s young prospect Dan Barlaser as a long-term replacement for Oguzhan Ozyakup.

The Black Eagles are still confident of extending Ozyakup’s contract despite the Turkey international’s contract expiring at the end of the season.

According to the Turkish outlet Aksam, Besiktas are looking into the possibility of singing Barlaser this summer.

Per the source, the Istanbul giants are set to hold talks with the Newcastle midfielder in the near future. Barlaser was born in Gateshead but is of Turkish descent.

The 21-year-old midfielder is yet to make a senior appearance for Newcastle United and is currently on loan at League 2 side Crewe Alexandra. A move to Besiktas would pose a huge jump in quality for the youngster however, the Istanbul giants pulled off a similar feat when they signed Ozyakup from Arsenal.

Newcastle United are back in action this weekend when they take on Huddersfield.
