Euro giants prepare shock January move for Arsenal star, Gunners unlikely to receive return on £42m investment

Turkish Super League giants Fenerbahce are set to make a shock move for Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil.

Ozil has been linked with a move from the Gunners in January after failing to agree a new deal with the north London-based club.

According to the Express, Fenerbahce are ‘ready’ to take Ozil off their hands. Per the source, Fenerbahce are willing to push-hard to sign the Germany international in January.

Ozil has been sidelined for Arsenal in recent weeks and was omitted from Joachim Low’s Germany national team due to a knee injury. The 28-year-old recently returned to the gym in an aim to regain fitness ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash.

Wenger’s side take on Watford FC at Vicarage Road on Saturday, kick-off is scheduled for 17:30 (GMT).

Ozil made the move to Arsenal from Real Madrid for £42.5 million back in September 2013 however, the Gunners will not be getting a return on their investment whether he is sold in January or leaves next summer.
