Everton Fans Are Like A ’12th Man’ Says Cenk Tosun Who Thanks Supporters After Brighton Win

Cenk Tosun knows all about the 12th man having spent the past few seasons in the Turkish Super Lig.

Besiktas fans are renowned for their passion and creating an intimidating atmosphere for visiting sides.

It is fair to say Tosun is a pretty good judge of fans after some of the insanely atmospheric games he has been involved in over the years.

The Turkey international admitted he has been impressed with Everton fans.

There have been Toffees supporters who feel Goodison Park has been a little quiet of late but Tosun does not think so.

“It feels great and I want to thank the fans,” Tosun told the official Everton website. “They were behind us for 90 minutes [against Brighton] and like a 12th man.

“Yes [I am feeling confident] because strikers need goals and I have scored in two successive games now. It is good for the confidence.

“We are playing really well at home but have to be better in the away games. And I hope that starts next week at Stoke.”

Tosun has now scored in his last two games, against Burnely and in the 2-0 win over Brighton.

The 26-year-old is likely to keep his place in the team and start his third back to back game against Stoke on Saturday.
