Terim was expected to give the Nigeria international time to settle in before giving him a starting role but he excelled over the pre-season.

The 21-year-old scored two goals in three friendly games and has been one of the most impressive players over the summer period.

Onyekuru netted against Valencia and in the recent victory over Tunisian side Africain.

The loanee was also involved in a dummy that resulted in a goal in the victory over Sakaryaspor.

Terim is expected to deploy Onyekuru on the wing where he will be competing with Garry Rodrigues for a starting role.

Alternatively, he could also be used upfront exchanging places with Bafetimbi Gomis.

The Lions won the Super Lig title last season and booked a place in the Champions League group stage as a result.
