Everton Loanee Henry Onyekuru Opens Up About His Galatasaray Future

Everton loanee Henry Onyekuru has opened up about his Galatasaray future in the Nigerian press.

Onyekuru is currently on a temporary move at the Lions from Everton.

The Nigeria international has yet to actually play a game for the Toffees because he has not been granted a work permit to play in England.

Onyekuru revealed that it is up to his agent to make his decision regarding his career.

The 21-year-old underlined that he is still an Everton player, that Galatasaray want him to stay and that he is happy at his loan club.

“Yes, I can’t discuss anything contract, for now, I am still a player of Everton, I want to stay focus to finish the season in a good note, before sitting on a round table with Everton and my agent to discuss where my future lies,” Onyekuru told Football Live.

“It is true, Galatasaray wants me to stay back, that decision rests on to my agent. Mine is to play football, while my agent is to take decisions regarding the positive move for me in my career, as for now, I remain a player of Everton.

“For now, I am enjoying my stay in Galatasaray, the fans have been so supportive in large numbers, top notch player and not forgetting quality administrators in the club. For now, Let’s see how it plans out at the end of the day.”

Onyekuru joined Everton in 2017 but was immediately sent on loan to Anderlecht following his inability to secure a work permit.

The striker has been in impressive form for the Lions scoring 15 times and providing four assists in 40 games.

Onyekuru was the star of the show in the Istanbul derby against Besiktas last week scoring in the 2-0 victory that took the Lions top of the table.

Galatasaray will secure Champions League group stage football if they win the league title this season.
