Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim recently confirmed interest in Barcelona star Yerry Mina.
Terim said on Instagram TV that the Colombia international impressed him at the World Cup and then went onto say he is a target.
“One of the players I really liked at the World Cup was Yerry Mina and to be honest he is a target, it is true we are interested,” Terim said.
Former Colombia international Carlos Valderrama was reported in the Fanatik sports newspaper – who in turn source El Espectador, who themselves quote Radio Caracol – as saying that Mina should consider Galatasaray as they can offer Champions League football.
“The Premier League is attractive but for me the Champions League is the most prestigious,” Valderrama said.
“I don’t think Yerry should join a mid-table team like Everton.
“Fatih Terim has a great record developing players, if it were me I would pick Galatasaray.”
Galatasaray are interested in Mina, the problem is they can’t match the Blues in a bidding war.
The Lions want the 23-year-old on a loan deal next season, giving the defender the chance to adapt to European competition football.
Spanish daily Sport meanwhile report that Everton, West Ham and Leicester City have all made bids worth €30m (£26.5m).
The 1.95m tall defender meanwhile has made it clear he wants to join a team where he will ‘receive minutes’.
Mina told Marca: “I want to make the best decision, but being calm is the most important thing.
“I want the best for my life and I have fulfilled a dream arriving at Barcelona, but this year I had some very difficult moments. I want a team where I’m calm and can receive minutes.”
