Everton Make Arsenal Star Transfer Priority But Line Up Move For Cenk Tosun’s Former Teammate As Alternative

Everton have made Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere a transfer priority over the summer transfer window.

The Times report that the Toffees are preparing to offer the English international a staggering £8 million sign-on fee.

Wilshere will be a free agent at the end of the season unless he signs a contract extension with Arsenal.

The England international has yet to agree a new deal and is free to talk with other clubs over his future beyond the end of the season.

The Merseyside based outfit are however, preparing for the possibility of Wilshere staying on at his current side.

A source close to Besiktas revealed to Turkish-Football that Everton have been regularly scouting Oguzhan Ozyakup this season.

Inquiries have been made but nothing official has been agreed upon.

The Black Eagles are concerned about the future of Ozyakup who will also be a free agent this summer unless he signs a new deal.

Everton are keen on the 24-year-old as he knows the Premier League well, being a former Arsenal youth product.

Additionally, he was born in the Netherlands so would have no issues getting a work permit – unlike Turkish international players born in Turkey.

And finally he played alongside Tosun for several seasons before the striker joined Everton in January.

Ozyakup and Tosun won back to back league titles together over the past two seasons.

The 24-year-old midfielder has six assists in 31 appearances for the Istanbul giants this season.
