Everton Offered Besiktas Forward Kilicsoy

Everton have been offered Besiktas forward Semih Kılıcsoy during the January transfer window, according to Chronicle Live.

The player’s representatives have reportedly contacted the Toffees regarding a potential move.

While Everton are yet to make an official offer, the 19-year-old is valued at around £16 million by Besiktas.

Aston Villa and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in the Turkish prospect.

Everton face a dilemma. They desperately need attacking reinforcements, particularly a centre-forward, given the current unavailability of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja, and Youssef Chermiti.

However, Kılıcsoy’s relatively modest goalscoring record this season (two goals and six assists in 29 appearances) raises questions about whether he is the right solution to their immediate problems.

While capable of playing across the frontline, Kılıcsoy’s lack of prolificacy might not address Everton’s most pressing need for a reliable goalscorer.

With Beto currently the only available centre-forward, Everton’s priority appears to be a proven number nine.

The club may decide to wait until the summer to assess Kılıcsoy’s development further before making a decision on the young prospect.
