Everton Record 2600% Sales Increase Following Cenk Tosun Transfer & Are In Talks Over Sponsorship Deals With Turkish Companies

The transfer of Besiktas hero Cenk Tosun to Everton in January created a lot of noise.

Tosun left Besiktas on good terms and a significant number of his fans started following Everton as a result.

The Toffees responded to growing interest from Turkey by starting a Turkish Twitter page which has seen numbers swell to over 25,000.

Even more impressively, from a financial standpoint, is the major increase in shirt sales in Turkey following the signing.

The Echo report that Everton recorded a 2600% boost in the sales of club merchandise in the region versus the previous year.

Per the source, Tosun’s transfer was a major driving force behind this.

Additionally the Blues are understood to now be in talks with a number of Turkish companies over potential sponsorship deals.

There was so much demand for access to Tosun from the Turkish media that after his move the club had to organise a special media day at Finch Farm to accommodate requests and boy was it busy! we did our interview with the Turkey international over the same period and can confirm just how crowded it was.
