Unfortunately for Tosun he was dropped heading into the France game despite scoring the last-ditch winner against Albania in the 1-0 victory in Istanbul on Friday.

Tosun was dropped for tactical reasons. Head coach Senol Gunes played two strikers against Albania but has opted for one man upfront away to the world champions. Burak Yilmaz got the nod as the lone striker.

Gunes opted for a defensive setup and one striker to provide a counter-attacking outlet. Yilmaz being a faster player than Tosun was the obvious option ahead of the matchday eight clash.

Tosun will however, be on the bench and has scored three goals in his last two games for the Turkey national team.
