Everton have suffered a blow in their quest to sign Galatasaray star winger Garry Rodrigues.
The Toffees have been linked with a move for the Cape Verde international since January. Newcastle United are also understood to be in the race to sign Rodrigues this summer.
However, Galatasaray vice-president Abdurrahim Albayrak has refuted reports linking Rodrigues with a move away from the Istanbul based club.
“We haven’t received an official bid for him [Rodrigues] yet,” Albayrak told Bein Sport.
“Besides, we will play in the UEFA Champions League this season and are not thinking about selling our star players.”
Everton recently sent scouts to monitor Rodrigues and were impressed by his performances in those games.
Rodrigues has been in stunning form for Galatasaray since the appointment of Fatih Terim as manager midway through the season.
The Dutch-born winger played a key role in the Lions title success. Rodrigues provided 11 assists and scored nine goals in 33 league appearances this season.
Everton meanwhile ended their season in eighth place and opted to part company with manager Sam Allardyce.
