Everton target Turkey international star who West Brom bid €8m for in January

Trabzonspor midfielder Okay Yokuslu has been closely linked with a move away from the Turkish Super Lig following an impressive 12 months.

The 24-year-old has been a star performer during Turkey’s recent friendlies and has attracted the attention of several Premier League clubs.

A source close to Trabzonspor has revealed to Turkish-Football.com that Everton is one of several English clubs interested in the defensive midfielder.

Scouts from Premier League clubs were present during the Russia v Turkey friendly and were impressed by Yokuslu’s performance.

The source went onto reveal that Everton have made an enquiry to Trabzonspor regarding the availability of Yokluslu this summer.

West Brom were closely linked with a move for Yokuslu during the previous transfer window. According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, the Baggies tabled a €8 million bid for the midfielder in January.

Yokuslu recently revealed that he is keen on a move abroad and that he as asked Trabzonspor to allow him to make a move this summer.

“I am in talks with club [Trabonspor], one of my goals is to play abroad,” Yokuslu told Sozcu when asked about his future with the Black Sea Storm.

The former Kayserispor star versatility and physical playing style makes him an ideal target for Premier League clubs. Yokuslu has registered three assists and two goals in 30 Turkish Super Lig games for Trabzonspor this season.
