Everton Team News: Big Sam Receives Major Injury Boost Ahead Of Liverpool Clash

Everton take on Liverpool in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on Saturday in the Premier League.

The Toffees will be hoping to take advantage of a Liverpool side with one eye on the Champions League return-leg tie against Manchester City mid-week.

Everton manager Samm Allardyce did receive a major injury boost heading into the clash as Idrissa Gueye will return to the squad following his muscle tear sustained just before the international break.

Gana will probably replace Morgan Schneiderlin in midfield who struggled in midfield alongside Wayne Rooney in the defeat to Manchester City last week.

Big Sam will also have experienced defender Ashley Williams back after serving a three-match suspension.

Allardyce will however, be without Eliaquim Mangala, James McCarthy, Mason Holgate and Gylfi Sigurdsson who are all out with longer term injuries.

Star striker Cenk Tosun is match fit heading into the clash.

The Turkey international is set to start his first derby game against Liverpool since joining in January.

Tosun has scored four goals in his last four games – although he failed to find the back of the net against City last week.

The striker did score in his last major derby which was in the 3-0 Besiktas victory over Galatasaray.
