The Toffees will be without defenders Phil Jagielka and Jonjoe Kenny against the visitors.
Midfielder James McCarthy is nearing match fitness after returning from a broken leg but will not feature against Brighton.
Turkey international star Cenk Tosun will be hoping to return to the starting lineup after spending the last four games on the bench.
Tosun has been brought on as a second-half substitute in the past four games, scoring in two of them.
Everton won last season corresponding game 2-0 with Tosun scoring his first home goal in the process.

But with the Brazilian failing to score in his last three games perhaps head coach Marco Silva will make changes to his attack.
Bernard, Sigurdsson and Walcott are likely to start behind the loan striker but Silva does have the option of moving Richarlison out wide and Tosun up front as well.
Silva also has Yerry Mina is fit and ready to make his debut for Everton but Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma have been his preferred centre-back pairing.
