Everton to use relationship with Euro Giants to edge ahead in race to sign £13m World Cup star

Everton are hoping to use their relationship with Besiktas to edge ahead in the race to sign Domagoj Vida this summer.

The Merseyside based club are one of several Premier League clubs interested in a move for Vida in recent weeks.

The 29-year-old has been one of Croatia’s star performers during the 2018 World Cup and managed to keep the likes of Kun Aguero and Messi quite during their 3-0 win over Argentina.

According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, Everton established a strong working relationship with Besiktas officials following the transfer of Cenk Tosun back in January.

The Toffees are hoping to use their contacts within Besiktas to give them the edge in the race to sign Vida.

Everton have already been linked with a £13 million move for the Croatia international this summer.

Vida has another four-years remaining on his contract with Besiktas after joining the club just six months ago on a free transfer.
