Ex Arsenal star Stewart Robson believes contract rebel ‘will take centre stage’ this season
Former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson has heaped praise on Mesut Ozil.
Robson believes the Germany international will ‘take centre stage’ as the Gunner’s main man this season.
Ozil played a starring role during Arsenal’s 4-3 win over Leicester City on Friday night.
Robson went onto state that Arsene Wenger’s 3-4-3 system will benefit Ozil and give the 28-year-old more room to create.

“Playing in the wide positions in the front line, they can find those little bits of space, use their creativity in different ways with Ozil and his passing and Sanchez running with the ball,” Steward Robson told TalkSport radio.
“Even if Sanchez went, I still think they’ll have a little bit of quality.
“Danny Welbeck played very well last week [in the Community Shield win over Chelsea] and Iwobe did very well in those wide positions.
“But I think Ozil will get better and will take on centre stage for Arsenal this season.”
Ozil had an inconsistent 12 months by his standards last term. The 28-year-old registered 14 assists in 44 appearances. In contrast, the former Real Madrid star racked up 20 assists during the previous season.
The Germany international’s future at Arsenal is still cast in doubt. Ozil has under 12-months remaining on his contract with the north London-based club.
However, Arsenal are understood to be close to striking a new bumper deal with Ozil.
Arsenal take on Stoke City in their next Premier League fixture on August 19.
