Shanghai Shenhua striker Demba Ba has revealed that he never experienced anything like the passion and atmosphere created by Beşiktaş fans anywhere else he has played.
The Senegalese international has played in England for Newcastle United, West Ham and most recently Chelsea.
Ba has also had stints in Germany for Hoffenheim, in France for Rouen and joined Chinese giants Shenhua over the summer.
“You cannot find that kind of passion and atmosphere outside of Turkey,” Ba told AMK.
“It does not exist in England, Germany or China and I do not think I will ever experience it anywhere else I really love Beşiktaş and the fans they were amazing.”
The Mirror had linked West Brom and West Ham as being closely linked with the 30-year-old striker over the summer but he joined Chinese side Shenhua on a €14 million move instead.
Ba scored 29 goals in all competitions for the Black Eagles last season – a career high – and also provided nine assists.
The Senegal international was part of the side that reached the Europa League Round of 32 and finished the league in third place.
