Liverpool coach Zeljko Buvac being ‘lined up’ to take over as Fenerbahce manager

Liverpool assistant manager Zeljko Buvac is reportedly being ‘lined up’ to take over Aykut Kocaman as Fenerbahce boss this summer.

Klopp famously referred to Buvac as “the brain” however, the Serbian unexpectedly left Liverpool at the end of April for reasons still unknown. There is still no official word from the club over whether Buvac will be returning or not.

According to the daily Turkish paper Sabah, Fenerbahce’s newly appointed director of football Damien Comolli has placed Buvac at the top of his managerial shortlist.

Sabah go onto state that Comolli is also in talks with former West Ham United boss David Moyes.

Buvac worked alongside Klopp for 17 years and was also described by a fellow member of staff Peter Krawietz as “the Eye”.
