The match now remains finely poised, with both teams having chances to secure a crucial advantage ahead of the second leg in Istanbul.

Beşiktaş will be aiming to capitalize on their home advantage and progress to the Europa League group stage, which debuts a new 36-team format this season.

Meanwhile, Başakşehir and Trabzonspor were held to goalless draws in their respective UEFA Conference League playoff matches.

Both Turkish clubs will need to improve their performances in the second legs if they hope to advance to the group stage.
