Galatasaray have made a move for Copenhagen left-back Nicolai Boilesen a source close to the player revealed to Turkish-Football.

The Lions are keen on completing the move before the World Cup in Russia.

Initial talks have been held but the transfer process is still at an early stage.

The Istanbul giants strengthened their left-back position in January after signing Yuto Nagatomo on a loan move from Inter.

The Lions have also been trying to sign Nagatomo on a permanent move but have yet to strike a deal.

Galatasaray would be keen on adding depth to their left-back position even if the Nagatomo transfer goes ahead.

Boilesen is primarily a left-back but is a versatile defender and has shown he is capable of playing at centre-back and right-back this season.

The Copenhagen captain has one goal and six assists in all competitions this season.

The former Ajax youth has 17 international caps for Denmark and has made the squad for the World Cup in Russia.

Galatasaray could end up winning the league title on Sunday if they avoid defeat against Goztepe.

The Lions will secure Champions League group stage football if they win the championship.
